It was a long but exciting and engaging procession as the Chairman, Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, led traditional groups, clubs, political groups, residents of Ikorodu and tourists in procession round major streets of Ikorodu.
The procession called, ‘Woro’, in the local parlance is usually held to usher in the annual Ikorodu – Oga Day Carnival which is a week – long.
The crowd followed by different masquerades, danced and created awareness for the commencement of the Lagos State Government’s recognised festival.
At the Ayangbure palace where His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, hosted hundreds of those that participated in the procession, it was another round of cultural display as each of the masquerades and traditional groups took turns to pay homage to the royal father and performed to the delight of the audience.
Ayangbure was joined by the Ranodu of Imota, His Majesty, Oba Ajibade Bakare Agoro, FCA, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olukayode David Raji, the Eweye of Isiwu among other royal fathers in attendance.
